Six Underground
The Nellee Hooper Edit is still one of my favorite songs...
I'm wrapping up the last days at
[dog-ma] and can't wait. I've tried and tried and (as a certain kyti reminded me) it's Not-My-Problem-Anymore.
I'm trying
to find/make/get a 5'x10' panel to do the painting in the bottom of
[this] panel. It's really suited for a wall, but finding a relatively public wall that I'm
allowed to paint on... I suspect
is difficult. I know plenty of bridge pylons, tunnel walls, alleyways, abandoned/idle trucks and trailors that just BEG for
some art... but it's not mine, and I appreceate that people pay my blank-spaces the same respect.
May I repeat how
excited i am about this new gig? Dog-ma was a great step up, and I'm thankful for it. It's time to move on, however. Senioritis
- as explained by Mandi Miliman at the English Department's graduation - isn't about being apathetic or lazy, it's about being
ready to move on to the next thing.
Let's move on, shall we?
My birthday was the 24th, and many thanks to my
friends and family for their love, patience, support, generosity, buffalo wings, rides from the Metro, herbal advice, constructive
art critiques, computer support, open ears, open arms, and open minds.
I could not be surrounded by better people.
...that's
not true. You could all have various mutant/super powers, but that's just a matter of time. I
am becoming a Mad Scientist,
afterall...
[and now you know]

Mother's Day:
Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms out there.
Thank you for bringing us into this world of song.
Thank you for wiping
our noses, forgiving our crappy excuses, kissing our cuts, making us soup, driving us to practice, watching our spring plays,
baking us cookies, and making our friends lemonade.
We couldn't have done it without you!
I've got a bunch
of Mother's Day calls to make. Friends (who are moms), family moms, MY mom, and the family Matriarch.
The search for Job.Next
is going as well as can be expected. I hope to hear back from Mad Science soon, and will continue to swing my resume around
like a bag of doughnuts, and see what i can catch.
I'm working on a 3-panel landscape/painting that's going to be a bit
more involved than the 2-panels i did before. I think i want to include some architecture, and maybe even people... i dunno.
It was inspired by the trip to Greenridge, but it's not something i've tried before. So we'll see what I come up with. At
this point, the painting's driving, so I'm just wondering where it's going to go. :}
Edo:2k5 has ground to a halt,
but it's not done. I'm still drawing, still telling the story... I'm just not terribly thrilled with the last couple o' pages,
so i'm not sure what i'm doing next with it. Time will tell..

3 new paintings:
Leaves, Sunset, 2 Panels.
Ok, so 4 new paintings. Sorta.
The panels are old shelves we took out of the shed.
They had contact paper on them, so it gave them a good surface. I only used 4 colors, too: blue, light green, dark green and
black. The white is the painted shelf where i tore some of the contact paper off.
I really like painting, and want
to do more of it. Spray, brushed, or otherwise. I'm building up a collection so i can have a showing and sale. Y'know...
like y'do.
*yay* art!

Painting Downtown
I decided to take today to paint down in DC.
um... yeah. Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Not much to say
I've been consumed by work at [Dog-ma]. That's been about it.
Two
new paintings up, and i've shuffled some stuff to the gallery pages.
