1st Week Back
My first week of college after so long a break was hard, but not as challenging as it could have been. I know the
semester is just warming up, and it will only get harder, but I'm looking forward to it.
I've been published
in the Student Press Law Center's REPORT again. Fall 2008, Vol. 29, No 3. (pg 15,16,29).

1st day of class
On Monday, for the first time in more than a few years, I will be going back to school.
I have an ambitious schedule that will hopefully let me graduate by summer, or at least end-of-summer. I'm anxious,
to say the least. I don't have anything logistical to worry about; books have been purchased, and I already know what
work clothes to bring. Monday evening is a fundraiser for Thunder Bay Theatre that I'm helping out at. It'll be a
long day to start a series of longer days, but it has been a long time coming. I'm greatful for the 2nd chance. My classes
are 3 sciences, two arts, and run from 9am-17:30
This summer has been mercifully short.
Thunder Bay Theatre was an exciting hand full. I had a brief, but fantastic whirlwind family vacation on the trails and waters
of Big Bear Lake, CA. Returning, there is a renewed urgency of action to spiff up and market the old house. Most
of today, and all of tomorrow and Sunday will be involved with painting and cleaning. With the dumpster delivered, I only
have 2 weeks to fix up the house and rennovate the interior of mom's new quilt shed.
Edo:2k5
is not forgotten, just backburnered. I need to produce about 9 more pages most of which are at least scripted. Then
it's editing, printing and binding the first few 1st series books. I imagine the first 10 to have hand painted canvas
covers, and the first one going to the Library of Congress. That's some ways off at this rate, but still the
plan.
...wow, that's a lot, looking at it. Now for my next trick, getting my bills paid at the
same time.

Gone Fishin'
Good morning from Big Bear Lake, California!!!
*yawn*
it's very sleepy here, at 8am and 7000 feet.
Very pretty too.
I'm surrounded by ponderosa pines, a beautiful cabin, mountains and good friends (well a good friend
and her parents)
After returning 8/17, I'll put up pictures, update comics and be uber-productive.
Class starts
the 25th... woo!
Now.. off to kayaking. Do they have coffee on kayaks?

Civil Rights Violations? ...maybe not.
http://www.durangoherald.com/asp-bin/article_generation.asp?article_type=news&article_path=/news/08/news080724_3.htm
Michigan couple tasered at own wedding reception! I've witnessed Bride-zilla during receptions before, seen
it in videos, and even seen kegstands. I've heard sheer horror stories from my catering-veteran boss. The idea
of a couple going ape (and tased by police) at a reception isn't beyond the realm of possability.
I can't
imagine the reception bills if you included bail...
I've put up the publications section of my website
- including the thumbs of the SPLC cartoons.
The road to Big Bear will feature lots of drawing, as i've got
most of the pages scripted out for the end of the Edo:2k5 (1st) book. Once it's inked, colored and laid out how
I want, it's time to find printer's prices. I guess being color it's going to cost a pretty penny. I want to bind
the first few by hand, custom painted cover - all that. Call them the prototype edition or something - but still get
an ISBN #, and a Library of Congress Barcode - or whatever it's called.
Class starts the 25th
of August, and with that comes book buying. I will be making 2 more dream catchers to help pay for that after I get back.
Since I won't be working at the theatre full time, it's sink-or-swim with my art. I can't wait till hunting
season (so I can earn my venison), and collecting tubsfulls of promised bones from the local game/taxedermy shop. The gentleman
there said that they throw away more than they can count. Free art supplies FTW!
